In case noone is aware, the Canadians are voting today, we have 4 major parties to choose from, The Liberals, The Conservatives, The New Democratic Party and (in Quebec only) the Bloc Quebecois. If you do get a chance, try to watch the results tonight, as it's going to be a real squeeker.
Ridden with scandal for the first couple of months he was in power, Paul Martin and the Liberal party will try to get 4 more years in power.
The interesting party in this race is the Conservatives. Even though favored by many for his tax reforms, he's also declared to be an ULTRA conservative which will stop at nothing to repeal the right for gay people to marry, women getting abortions etc. People have been saying a vote for Harper is a vote for Bush. Some people have no choice but to vote for the Liberals (like me) just to prevent Mr. Harper from getting into power.

So, I have no idea of how the American population can watch, but try. Maybe go to a website like cbc.ca, because people will be calling it a squeeker.

a view from another country. Most Austalians are totally ignorant of Canada and could not name any prominent Canadians. I wonder if the same is true of the Americans. A survey,3 years ago, found that they have a dismal knowledge of Geography.
